FuTURE Lab’s Updates
2025

Happy to welcome Adam Hueil to the FuTURE Lab family this summer! Adam, an undergraduate mechanical engineering student, will be joining our research team through WPI’s Early Research Experience in E-Term (EREE) program.

We are proud to announce that FuTURE Lab’s paper, “Towards Autonomous Navigation of Neuroendovascular Tools for Timely Stroke Treatment via Contact-aware Path Planning,” was awarded 2nd Place for Best Student Paper at the International Symposium on Medical Robotics (ISMR) 2025, held this month at Georgia Tech! Authors: Aabha Tamhankar, Giovanni Pittiglio

Our PI Giovanni Pittiglio and PhD student Aabha Tamhankar presented our latest contributions on autonomous robots for stroke care at the International Symposium of Medical Robotics (ISMR) 2025.

FuTURE is growing its team ! If you are a student at WPI and want to be push the boundaries of medical technology and robotics, apply to work with us! FuTURE Lab Dinner.

Excited to give a talk at a fantastic Symposium SF03-Materials for Robotics at MRS Fall Meeting 2024 in Boston about the use of magnetic ball chains for cardiac ablation. Read the open access paper published on IEEE Transactions on Medical Robotics and Bionics (TMRB). The TMRB version . Photo from the talk.
